In-Depth Advisory
Customs & Import-Export Advisory in Gandhinagar, Gujarat
India's Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and Customs Act 1962 offer significant duty concessions and export incentive schemes — but navigating them requires precise HSN classification, DGFT filings, and coordination with customs brokers. Morry's Business provides end-to-end customs and import-export advisory to manufacturers, traders, and service exporters in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and the GIFT City IFSC zone, where special customs procedures apply.
HSN Classification and Duty Determination
The Harmonised System of Nomenclature (HSN) determines the applicable basic customs duty (BCD), IGST, and anti-dumping duty for every imported good. Misclassification is among the most common triggers for customs show-cause notices and demand orders. We perform detailed classification analysis using the Customs Tariff Act 1975, Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-dumping Duty) Rules, and relevant CBIC circulars to ensure every import declaration is correct before goods are cleared.
Export Incentive Schemes: RoDTEP and IGST Refund
The Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme reimburses indirect taxes embedded in exported goods — including state-level electricity duties, mandi taxes, and fuel costs — at notified rates for each ITC-HS code. Separately, exporters can claim IGST refund on exports (zero-rated under GST) either by paying IGST and claiming a refund, or by exporting under a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) without payment of IGST and later claiming ITC refund. We determine which route is more beneficial based on your ITC position and cash flow requirements.
Import Export Code and DGFT Filings
An IEC (Import Export Code) is the primary identity document for exporters and importers. It is issued by the DGFT and is mandatory for claiming benefits under the FTP, filing customs shipping bills, and receiving foreign remittances for export proceeds. We handle IEC registration, annual updating of IEC profiles on the DGFT portal, and various DGFT applications including EPCG authorisations (zero duty capital goods import against export obligation) and Advance Authorisations.
Bonded Warehousing and MOOWR
The MOOWR (Manufacturing and Other Operations in Warehouse Regulations) scheme allows businesses to import goods duty-free into a licensed bonded warehouse, perform manufacturing or value-addition, and pay customs duty only on the finished goods cleared for home consumption. Exports from MOOWR units are entirely duty-free. We guide Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad manufacturers on MOOWR licensing, record-keeping, and monthly customs compliance for bonded operations.
